DISCOGRAPHY
Recordings occupy an increasingly important place in Coline Dutilleul’s artistic career, reflecting both her passion for rediscovering rarely performed repertoire and her interest in creating distinctive and personal programmes.
Following Haydn’s Arianna a Naxos, recorded for Arte Concert in 2020 with Aline Zylberajch on fortepiano, and her participation in Per l’orchestra di Dresda with Les Ambassadeurs – La Grande Écurie and Alexis Kossenko, she released her first recital album, Licht in der Nacht, with pianist Kunal Lahiry (Fuga Libera/Outhere Music) in 2022.
The album received a Choc de Classica, four stars from Fono Forum and was included in the 1/2023 Longlist of the Preis der Deutschen Schallplattenkritik.
She subsequently took part in the complete recording Les Mélodies de Georges Bizet, released by Harmonia Mundi in collaboration with the Palazzetto Bru Zane. Her contribution to the set received particularly enthusiastic reviews. Diapason praised her “near-ideal balance between the vibrant sensitivity of the words and the shaping of the vocal line,” as well as the refinement of her diction. Forumopera placed her “at the same level of excellence” as Cyrille Dubois, highlighting her “rich, shimmering timbre” and her ability to sharpen the voice in order to bring the text vividly to life. Gramophone noted the great warmth of her interpretation of the Chants des Pyrénées, while Concertclassic wrote that she “enchants through the unfailing naturalness of her singing.” International critics were equally enthusiastic: the Financial Times described her as an “excellent mezzo-soprano,” while Scherzo praised her “superb, velvety voice.”
In 2025, Au salon de Joséphine – Un salon sous le Premier Empire (Ramée/Outhere Music) was released, conceived with Aline Zylberajch on fortepiano and Pernelle Marzorati on harp. Bringing to life the musical world of Joséphine de Beauharnais through romances and operatic arias, the recording was met with outstanding critical acclaim.
Le Monde described it as “remarkably conceived and performed” and praised Coline Dutilleul’s “warm and supple timbre, perfect diction and natural expression.” Première Loge called her the “ideal interpreter” of these works, highlighting her ability to balance the intimacy of the salon with a much broader vocal and dramatic palette. Classica praised her “impeccable, vibrant diction,” while Diapason highlighted her caressing mezzo and her “finely chiselled yet never overstated delivery of the text.”
In 2026, Coline Dutilleul continued this highly personal exploration of the recital repertoire with In deinen süßen Händen – Musik für verlorene Seelen (Fuga Libera/Outhere Music), recorded with pianist Aurelia Vişovan. Conceived by Dutilleul herself, the programme brings Schubert and Bach into dialogue around themes of melancholy, loss and consolation.
The album once again attracted significant critical attention. Le Monde devoted an article to the recording under the headline “Mezzo-soprano Coline Dutilleul makes the stars shine in Schubert’s dark sky,” while Diapason highlighted the ambition of the programme and, considering the demands of the Schubert repertoire, hailed it as “an all the more dazzling achievement — a rare album!”
